DOE's Office of Economic Impact and Diversity - The office's mission is to devise and lead diversity strategies that will ensure full participation of all employees and to create full partnerships with small and disadvantaged businesses and minority educational institutions. The office also provides oversight to the Secretary's Diversity Council, which works to promote excellence and equality in the Department's workforce, thereby creating and maintaining a positive work environment; to eliminate unlawful discrimination; to achieve equal opportunity and affirmative action; and to reflect and value at all levels, in all activities, and among all its contractors the diversity of American society.

This database contains campus, local, national and international academic material relating to the following areas of diversity as defined by the Office of Human Relations at the University of Maryland at College Park: age, class, disability, ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, religion & sexual orientation.

Sexual Orientation Section of University of Maryland Diversity Database.

This database was created in the summer of 1994 to provide information to students and professors of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer studies and to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer-identified people. The database contains a picture gallery, and collections of announcements, calls for papers, bibliographies, syllabi, etc.
